Dr. Elizabeth Braun

Dr. Elizabeth Braun is an Ohio native who recently relocated to the Lowcountry. Dr. Braun attended the Ohio State University, earning both her Biology Degree and Optometry Degree as a Buckeye. After graduation, she moved to Cincinnati and worked in Ohio and Northern Kentucky for four years before deciding to make Charleston her new home.

Growing up in rural Ohio, as one of six children, Dr. Braun was raised with a strong sense of community and giving back. During her clinic rotations, she chose to spend six months at an Indian Health Service clinic in the mountains of Whiteriver, Arizona, and the Tucson VA hospital. As a student in Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, she traveled to Guatemala and Nicaragua to provide eye care and glasses to those in need. Since graduating, Dr. Braun has participated in a medical trip to Peru as well as volunteering her services in rural areas of Kentucky in outreach clinics.

Dr. Braun is committed to providing quality eye care for the entire family. She especially enjoys working with children and is an InfantSee provider for free exams for children under the age of one. Dr. Braun personally has undergone PRK refractive surgery and is happy to answer any questions or concerns regarding LASIK or other refractive surgery options.

Dr. Braun has been trained on all the new and innovative ways to treat disease and help her patients see to the best of their ability. She goes above and beyond the mandated continuing education requirements to stay up to date on current research and new advancements in treatment options. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and SC Optometric Association.

Outside the office, Dr. Braun spends her time reading, traveling and watching sports. She also loves exploring her new hometown with her Yorkie-bichon named Mica.
