Dr. Rachael Click

Dr. Rachael Click, born and raised a Hoosier, has found a new home in the Lowcountry.

Photo of Dr. ClickA native of central Indiana, Dr. Click attended Indiana University, where she earned a biochemistry degree and, in 2007, her optometry degree. Soon after graduation, she moved to sunny Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and, in the fall of 2008, opened Preferred EyeCare Center in Park West.

Married to her high school sweetheart, Dr. Click is the oldest of three children. In her spare time, she loves to read and watch movies. She also enjoys season tickets to the Best of Broadway series at the Charleston Coliseum and has a burning desire to travel. Her love of the beach was a major factor in her decision to move to the Carolina coast.

Because Dr. Click believes that continuing education is a vitally important aspect of providing the best care possible to her patients, she spends much of her time attending CE sessions that keep her up-to-date on the latest advancements in optometry. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Contact Lens and Sports Vision sections with the AOA; the South Carolina Optometric Association; and the Indiana University Alumni Association.

Since she believes in giving back to the community, she serves on the Advisory Council of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Charleston and participates in the InfantSEE program, which offers optometrists the opportunity to provide free eye examinations to children up to the age of 1. She also takes part in the Lions Club’s Share The Sight program, which provides less-fortunate people with frames and eyeglasses.

In addition to her dedication to her patients and the community, Dr. Click has high regard for the environment. Preferred EyeCare is a paperless, eco-friendly office.
