Dr. Kayla Spangenberg
Dr. Kayla Spangenberg, a native of Pennsylvania, is excited to start a new chapter here in the Lowcountry.
After growing up in central Pennsylvania, Dr. Kayla attended Penn State University, studying Life Science, French and Psychology. During her junior year, she spent a semester studying abroad in Montpellier, France. After college, her interest in eye care was strengthened by working at a practice in her hometown of York, PA.
Dr. Kayla then moved to Boston, MA to earn her optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry. She was awarded clinical honors on all of her rotations, which included the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Hospital, and South End Community Health Center. During optometry school, she served as the president of the Private Practice Club, volunteered on an eye care mission trip to Belize with the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists and was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.
Dr. Kayla’s interests include yoga, traveling, shopping, and trying out local restaurants. On the weekends, you can find her exploring her new hometown with her fiancé, Michael, and their Australian Shepherd puppy, Charlee.
